The Kyiv Court of Appeals will hear the case of KNU Rector Bugrov
On April 21, the Kyiv Court of Appeals will hear the case involving allegations of corruption against Vladimir Bugrov, rector of Kyiv National University.
This was reported on the court’s website.
If the court upholds the lower court’s decision, Volodymyr Bugrov will be added to the register of corrupt officials and barred from running in the rector’s election. This also provides grounds for the Ministry of Education and Science to terminate the rector’s contract early.
As recently as March 4, 2026, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv found Rector Volodymyr Bugrov guilty of an administrative offense related to corruption, fining him for failing to declare a vehicle.
Meanwhile, journalists from “Slidstvo.Info” discovered that Volodymyr Bugrov, rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, had become the owner of an apartment in a luxury new-build complex in Kyiv, a purchase that would have exceeded the funds he had declared. The KNU rector registered a two-bedroom apartment with an area of 74.7 m² in his name in the newly built White Lines residential complex near Holosiivskyi Park. Currently, such apartments cost over $200,000.
