Kyivvodokanal may raise the water rate to 88.9 UAH per cubic meter
Tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal in Kyiv may rise significantly. “Kyivvodokanal” has already submitted its calculations for the new tariffs to the city authorities; according to these calculations, the total cost of services for residents could rise to 88.90 UAH per cubic meter.
According to the company’s proposal, the water supply rate could rise from 16.16 UAH to 50.69 UAH per cubic meter, and the wastewater disposal rate from 14.22 UAH to 38.21 UAH. If the new rates are approved, the total tariff will increase by 58.52 UAH—from the current 30.38 UAH to 88.90 UAH per cubic meter.
The company explains that the tariff adjustment is a necessary step to ensure the stable operation of water supply and wastewater systems amid the war and constant threats to critical infrastructure.
Among the main reasons for the potential increase are a threefold rise in costs for electricity and water treatment chemicals compared to 2022, a more than twofold increase in fuel prices, increased repair costs due to network wear and tear and the consequences of Russian attacks, as well as higher wages for employees.
The final decision on the tariff changes is to be made by the city authorities. At this time, the new rates have not yet been approved.

As a reminder, some minibuses in Kyiv are raising fares to 25 hryvnias. The changes will take effect amid rising public transportation fares in the capital.
As of July 21, Ukraine’s largest gas station chains have updated their fuel prices. The average price of A-95 gasoline is 78.07 hryvnia per liter, and diesel fuel is 80.21 hryvnia per liter.
