A Kyiv Metro train operator revealed his salary
Dmytro Roda, a train operator for the Kyiv Metro, talked about how much he earns and what factors influence his salary.
He has been working for the metro for 18 years, 15 of which he has spent driving trains. According to him, he currently earns 50,000–60,000 hryvnias per month.
Salary depends on years of service, the driver’s rank, and the work schedule. In particular, evening, night, and split shifts affect the amount.
For a train driver just starting out on the metro, the minimum rate is about 40,000 hryvnias per month.
Roda noted that a shift can start as early as 5 a.m. or as late as 5 p.m.—depending on the schedule.
