An illegal commercial addition to a high-rise building was discovered in the Obolon district of Kyiv

In the Obolon district of Kyiv, at 61 Heroiv Dnipra Street, a commercial space was built under the guise of renovating the entrance area from the apartment’s balcony. In doing so, part of the building’s adjacent territory was encroached upon, and a gas pipe was rerouted along the lower perimeter of the newly constructed structure.

The addition to the apartment building was constructed in a makeshift manner, raising concerns among local residents about compliance with safety standards. The structure, built on pillars, was registered as a separate piece of real estate with a private notary back in April 2026. On social media, Kyiv residents note that such schemes to increase living space are becoming a widespread phenomenon in the area.

The community is awaiting a response from law enforcement and is demanding that the relevant authorities verify the permits and dismantle the unauthorized structure. This was reported by “Glavkom.”

As a reminder, a shooting occurred in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynsky District on the morning of September 3, resulting in one person being wounded. The perpetrator fled after the incident and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
