In Teremky, 60 garages owned by veterans may be demolished to make way for a heating pipeline

In Kyiv, officials are discussing an alternative plan for laying a backup heating pipeline in the Teremky neighborhood, which would involve the demolition of about 60 garages.

This proposal was put forward by Kyiv City Council member Viktoria Ptashnyk. According to her, this would allow for the preservation of trees that are in the way of the heating network construction.

At the same time, the Kyiv City State Administration noted that among the garage owners are combat veterans and people with disabilities. Previously, district authorities had granted them the necessary permits.

The backup heating pipeline is being built for Teremky-1 and Teremky-2. The Kyiv City State Administration explains that it is necessary to provide heat to 280 high-rise buildings in the event that the main infrastructure is damaged by Russian strikes.
