A man opened fire at a supermarket outside Kyiv

In the village of Lyutizh in the Kyiv region, a 30-year-old man returned to a supermarket with a gun after a conflict with a local resident and opened fire.

According to police, the man left the store, went to a Volkswagen, retrieved a gun, and returned to the sales floor. There, he fired two shots into the floor, then went outside and fired another shot into the air.

Afterward, the man got into a car driven by an acquaintance and left the scene.

Law enforcement officers quickly located him and detained him. The firearm and other physical evidence were seized.

The man was notified of his status as a suspect under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism involving the use of a weapon. He was placed in a temporary detention facility.
