The Prosecutor's Office is seeking a court order to protect the "Syretsky Hai" Park in Kyiv
The Podil District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv has filed a lawsuit in the interest of the state, seeking to ensure adequate protection of the “Syretsky Grove” park—a national landmark of landscape architecture. The lawsuit was filed to preserve the nature reserve and ensure compliance with the legal requirements for its protection.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
The “Syretsky Hai” park-monument was established in 1972 as a nature reserve of national significance. Subsequently, its nature conservation status and the need for its preservation were repeatedly confirmed by decisions of state bodies and the Kyiv City Council.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office has established that the Kyiv City Council, the Kyiv City State Administration, the Kyiv City Military Administration, and their structural units have, for a long time, failed to ensure proper land-use registration of the territory of the nature reserve, have not established its boundaries, and have not entered the relevant information into the State Land Cadastre.
This makes it impossible to properly monitor land use and creates conditions for unauthorized occupation of the territory, illegal land use, violations of the protected area regime, and damage to the park’s natural complex.
In this regard, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit demanding that state authorities take measures to properly register and protect the territory of the “Syretsky Grove” park-monument.
Currently, the Kyiv District Administrative Court has opened proceedings in the case.
