The prosecutor's office is seeking a court order to recover 1.4 million hryvnias for substandard road salt
The Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit seeking to recover 1.4 million hryvnias from a private company. The company received the funds under a contract to supply road salt of substandard quality to a municipal enterprise.
During the pretrial investigation of the criminal case, it was established that in late 2023, the municipal enterprise “Kyiv City Holosiivskyi District Road Maintenance Department” purchased salt to combat icy conditions. However, the company supplied substandard salt—second-grade salt instead of the highest grade, as required by the terms of the contract.
According to the findings of the expert examinations conducted, the total amount of losses incurred by the Kyiv City territorial community as a result of the conclusion and performance of this contract amounts to 1.4 million UAH.
Consequently, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit seeking to recover from the supplier the excess funds paid for the substandard salt. The Kyiv
Commercial Court has opened proceedings in the case. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
Earlier, a female officer of the General Staff was detained for accepting a bribe of $14,000.
In the Chernihiv region, a detained deserter attempted to offer a bribe of 40,000 hryvnias.
