Public transportation fares in Kyiv will rise to 30 hryvnias: who will be able to ride for free

Starting July 15, new public transportation fares will take effect in Kyiv. The cost of a single ride will increase to 30 hryvnias.

At the same time, all eligible groups will continue to have the right to free transit. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, approximately 1.1 million residents of the capital benefit from these privileges.

Pensioners, combat veterans, people with disabilities, children with disabilities, and other categories specified by law will continue to ride for free. Schoolchildren will also ride public transportation for free during the school year, and in the summer they will pay 25% of the fare. College students will pay half the cost of a monthly pass.

This year’s Kyiv budget allocates nearly 875 million hryvnias to cover the cost of these fare discounts.
