As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv, the operation of tram routes No. 1 and No. 3 has been temporarily altered. Due to damage to the infrastructure, they are running at longer intervals, according to Kyivpastrans.
To ensure passenger transportation in the capital, temporary bus routes No. 1T and No. 3T have been introduced to replace tram service on affected sections.
Kyivpastrans has urged Kyiv residents and visitors to take these temporary changes into account when planning their trips.
The Kyiv City State Administration reported that one of the tram depots was damaged as a result of Russian shelling, affecting 42 Polish-made Pesa trams.
A special task force comprising specialists from all of the capital’s depots has already been formed to restore the rolling stock as quickly as possible.
According to preliminary estimates, the repair and restoration of the damaged cars will take about a week.
City officials assure that the work will be carried out as quickly as possible to return the trams to their normal operating schedule.
On the night of July 8, Russian troops launched another ballistic strike on Kyiv. More than ten explosions were heard in the capital, followed by large-scale fires in several districts, and emergency services began to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
Earlier, Russian forces struck Odesa. The attack damaged infrastructure, and two people are known to have been injured.
The strike on Odesa was carried out with a missile equipped with a cluster warhead.
