In Kyiv, a man is suspected of abusing five children
In Kyiv, law enforcement officials notified a 34-year-old man that he was under suspicion; he is accused of sexually abusing five of his young nephews. According to the investigation, the victims were children between the ages of 2 and 8.
The man lived in the same apartment with the children’s mother, his sister, and his five nephews and nieces. Law enforcement officials determined that he may have committed illegal acts against three boys and two girls. The children are 8, 6, and 2 years old, and the girls are 5 and 4 years old.
According to police, the family had previously been under the supervision of social services. In December 2025, the woman and her children were placed in a Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation following an inspection of their living conditions. The reason for this included, in particular, complaints from neighbors that the children were often left at home without adult supervision.

Later, the older boy told a psychologist about his uncle’s suspicious behavior. Following this, law enforcement launched an investigation, during which they also received information from the other children. The man was notified that he is suspected of violating the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding sexual abuse of children. The penalty under this article provides for punishment of up to life imprisonment.
The suspect has been taken into custody pending the investigation. Investigators are also looking into whether the children’s mother was aware of her brother’s possible actions. If this is confirmed, she could also face charges. The children have been removed from the family. They are currently in the care of social services and receiving psychological support. This was reported by the Kyiv Police and the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
