In Kyiv, a man was sentenced to life in prison for raping his partner’s sons

In Kyiv, a 45-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for the systematic rape of his partner’s two young sons. The court also found him guilty of producing and distributing pornography, including child pornography.

The children did not speak out about the abuse for a long time. One of the boys eventually revealed what was happening through a drawing. During the investigation, it was discovered that the man had been sexually abusing both children for years.

At the time, the boys were 10 and 14 years old. One of them described the man’s actions as “adult games that you can’t tell anyone about” and also said that “the uncle hurt him.” The prolonged abuse caused the children significant psychological trauma.

The convicted man is currently appealing the verdict and does not admit guilt.

The court heard the case of the children’s mother separately. The woman was found guilty of producing, possessing with intent to sell, and distributing pornography, including child pornography. In addition, the court found that she was aware of her partner’s abuse of her sons but took no action to stop it.

She was sentenced to 15 years in prison; however, the prosecution is appealing this sentence, as it had sought a life sentence for her.

The boys are now 13 and 19 years old. They are in the care of relatives: one is being raised by his biological father, and the other by his grandmother.
