Traffic on the Metro Bridge in Kyiv will be partially restricted due to repair work. The restrictions will take effect on the evening of August 21 and will last until 5:00 p.m. on August 24. Drivers should expect a narrowed roadway when traveling from the right bank to the left bank.
Traffic restrictions on the Metro Bridge will take effect at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21. The work is scheduled to be completed by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24. This does not mean a complete closure of the bridge. Traffic will continue, but fewer lanes will be available to drivers on a specific section. Repairs will be carried out on the section of the bridge where vehicles travel from the right bank of the Dnipro to the left. The restrictions will apply in the direction of the “Hydropark” metro station.
Which lane will be closed?
During the work, the far-right lane will be closed. This means that vehicles will have to change lanes to use the other available lanes. As a result, traffic on the bridge may increase, especially during peak hours when the number of vehicles on the route rises. Drivers should plan ahead for the repairs and avoid waiting until the last minute to cross the bridge.
At the same time, there are no plans to completely close the bridge to traffic during the repairs. The restrictions will apply only to part of the bridge.
How long will the work last?
Repairs will begin on the evening of August 21 and are scheduled to be completed by 5:00 p.m. on August 24. Thus, the restrictions will fall on weekends and holidays. During this period, drivers planning trips between the right and left banks of Kyiv should allow extra time for their journey.
