Charges Have Been Filed in Kyiv Over Losses Related to the Renovation of Poznyaki Park
In Kyiv, law enforcement officials uncovered a scheme involving the possible embezzlement of public funds during the repair of a retaining wall in Poznyaki Park, resulting in losses to the state of nearly 940 thousand UAH.
According to the investigation, in 2024, the municipal enterprise “Kyivzelenbud,” using funds from the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation, carried out repair work in Poznyaki Park with the assistance of a contractor.
A special commission of the Department was established to verify the completion of the work.
It was determined that part of the work had not actually been performed, yet payment for it was made in full—nearly 940 thousand UAH.
As part of the proceedings, notices of suspicion were served on the head of the Kyiv City State Administration Department’s commission who conducted the inspection, two contractors, and officials of the “Kyivzelenbud” municipal enterprise (the general director and the department head).
The investigation is working to establish all the circumstances surrounding the possible misappropriation of budget funds.
