In Kyiv, during a search of a garage, a man suspected of involvement in drug labs threatened law enforcement officers with a grenade.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred during investigative activities as part of criminal proceedings regarding illegal drug trafficking. After negotiations, he was detained, and during the search of the garage, an arsenal of weapons and narcotics were discovered.

Law enforcement officers arrived to search one of the garages as part of a criminal investigation into drug labs. Upon seeing members of a police special unit, the man began threatening to use a combat grenade. However, he was persuaded not to do so.
During a subsequent search of the garage bay, officers seized two F-1 fragmentation grenade casings and two fuses for them, an AK-74 assault rifle, a Fort-19 pistol, a bayonet knife for the AK-74, a large quantity of ammunition of various calibers, as well as 12 grams of a substance resembling amphetamine, a bag of cannabis, electronic scales, and containers with drug residues. All seized items were sent for forensic analysis.
Under the procedural guidance of the Darnytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv, a 45-year-old resident of the capital has been notified of suspicion of threatening a law enforcement officer with violence and the illegal possession of ammunition.
He has been placed under a preventive measure—detention for 60 days without the right to bail.
