Police have detained the driver who opened fire in Obolon
The Kyiv Police reported the arrest of a suspect who fired three shots at another driver during a road dispute in the Obolon district of the capital.
This was reported by local Telegram channels.
As a result of the incident, the 41-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed to a medical facility.
Law enforcement officers tracked down and detained the suspect in the Kyiv region, where he was attempting to evade justice.
The conflict between the two drivers arose due to a dispute over who had the right of way on a section of the road.
During a verbal altercation, one of the drivers pulled out a pistol and fired several shots at his opponent. Immediately afterward, the suspect fled the scene in his own vehicle in an unknown direction.
To locate the suspect, investigators conducted a series of operational and investigative measures and enlisted the help of criminal analysts.
The suspect was located and detained on the grounds of a summer cottage in the Kyiv region. The investigation is currently ongoing, and the firearm used in the shooting has been seized for forensic examination.
