More than half of Kyiv residents believe that the central government should be responsible for protecting the capital’s energy infrastructure from Russian attacks.
This is reported by the sociological group “Rating.”
According to the survey results, 54% of Kyiv residents place the primary responsibility for protecting energy facilities on the national government. Another 32% of respondents believe that these issues should be addressed by local authorities.
Sociologists also identified the tasks that residents of the capital consider priorities for city authorities.
Most often, respondents cited improving security in the city—49% of respondents chose this option. In second place was support for the military, which 33% of Kyiv residents consider important. The same number of survey participants advocated for the construction and repair of shelters.
In addition, 26% of the capital’s residents stated the need to intensify the fight against corruption and increase the transparency of administrative decisions.
Among other important priorities, Kyiv residents cited the development of the healthcare system, urban beautification, and improving the quality of public utilities.
The survey was conducted from May 22 to 27, 2026, using face-to-face interviews. A total of 1,200 adult residents of Kyiv participated in the study. The margin of error does not exceed 2.8%.
