Klitschko addressed Kyiv graduates on the occasion of their last day of school
Today, May 29, Kyiv schools held their last bell ceremonies. This year, nearly 20,000 students are graduating from their final year and preparing to take the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT). Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko addressed the students with words of congratulations.
He posted a message to that effect on Telegram.
The city’s leader emphasized that the current generation of graduates is finishing school during an extremely dramatic time of great trials and challenges. “They studied in shelters during air raid alerts, went to school after nighttime attacks, or logged in for online classes,” he noted.
The mayor of Kyiv also noted that despite the full-scale war and regular shelling, the capital has not closed a single school or kindergarten. The city is promptly restoring all educational institutions damaged by enemy strikes so that children can attend classes in person. Additionally, due to forced breaks and disruptions in the educational process caused by the attacks, Kyiv is implementing special programs to help students catch up on missed material.
Addressing the 19,600 graduates entering adulthood this year, Klitschko urged them not to fear difficulties and to confidently pursue their goals.
“You are entering adulthood at a difficult time for the country and for every Ukrainian. But remember: all challenges can be overcome when you have a goal and a dream! I wish you determination, success on your national exams, and the confidence to pursue your dreams! Because it is up to you to rebuild Ukraine and make it successful and strong!” the mayor added.
As a reminder, the Kyiv City State Administrationis preparing to review public transportation fares in the capital.
Additionally, law enforcement agencies in the capital have dismantled two corruption schemes, the organizers of which promised men of draft age that they could avoid mobilization through official deferments.
