Russia has damaged nearly 3,600 buildings in Kyiv — Klitschko

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian attacks have damaged 3,578 buildings in Kyiv. Of the 71 most severely damaged structures, 30 have already been restored.

This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to him, since 2022, the capital has allocated over 2.3 billion hryvnias for housing restoration.

The city has prepared 47 temporary housing units for residents of damaged or destroyed buildings. Currently, 22 of them are already occupied, and another 25 are ready for occupancy.

Those affected by the shelling are also receiving financial assistance. Since 2022, Kyiv residents have been receiving 10,000 UAH each, and owners of homes that have sustained significant damage will be eligible starting in 2025 to receive a one-time payment of 40,000 UAH and 20,000 UAH monthly for housing rent.

Following the massive rocket and drone attack on the capital on May 24, 489 residents sought assistance.

According to city authorities, 552 structures were damaged as a result of the shelling, including 41 private homes and 488 high-rise buildings. Four residential buildings sustained significant damage.

The KyivMetro has lost half of its passengers during the war.

The Lukyanivska metro station resumed operations after the Russian attack.

A petition to rename the Pochaina metro station to "Banderivska" did not receive enough votes.
