After one of the world’s 50 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 V12 Edition 100 vehicles, registered to Botanic LLC, was spotted in Kyiv, attention was drawn not only to the exclusive car itself but also to a person associated with the company.
The ultimate beneficiary and head of Botanic LLC is Ivan Grechkivsky—a lawyer and businessman with interests in real estate, asset management, and development. Among the companies associated with him are Redutna Estate, Golden Gate Asset Management, “Immobiliare Ukraine,” “BTS House,” “Family Garden,” and others.
The ownership structure draws particular attention. Botanic LLC is controlled through the Maltese company John Galt Holdings Ltd, among whose owners Ivan Grechkivsky appears in publicly available corporate records. Such a scheme is legal, but at the same time makes it difficult to understand the actual structure of the assets.
Ivan Grechkivsky is also the son of Pavlo Grechkivsky, one of the most prominent figures in the judicial community in recent years. Pavlo Grechkivsky’s name has been repeatedly mentioned in high-profile corruption and disciplinary scandals that have been widely covered by the Ukrainian media. At the same time, no direct, proven criminal convictions regarding Ivan Grechkivsky have been found in open sources.
So the story of the rare Maybach is no longer just a news item about an expensive car. It is a story about a man who, through a network of companies, manages assets worth tens of millions of hryvnias, utilizes international corporate structures, and has influential connections in the legal community.
