Two civilians—a 47-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy—were also killed in the accident. “Their lives, along with those of two other people—a 47-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy—were cut short as a result of a traffic accident in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv,” the National Police stated.

According to preliminary data, the driver of a Mercedes car drove into a pedestrian zone at high speed, which led to fatal consequences. The driver himself sustained serious injuries and is currently in intensive care. Law enforcement officials also report that several other people were injured and are in the hospital.

After graduating from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, he began his service in the police, rising through the ranks from working in the metro to senior precinct officer. Colleagues described him as a responsible and professional law enforcement officer who quickly earned the respect of his team.

Denys Budchenko, born in 2005 in the Rivne region, also began his service as a beat officer at the Solomyanskyi Police Department after graduating from the academy.
