A woman who was producing fake medical certificates for draft dodgers was caught in Kyiv

Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a 23-year-old resident of the capital has been notified that she is suspected of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The investigation established that the woman, acting in collusion with others, organized a scheme to produce forged medical documents for men subject to military conscription.

The forged certificates contained false information stating that the close relatives of the clients had serious illnesses, were unable to move independently, and required constant care from others. 

Based on these forged documents, the men obtained the legal right to defer mobilization as individuals caring for sick family members. Law enforcement has so far documented at least seven cases of such “services” being used.

The accomplices advertised the illegal business through specialized Telegram channels and sent the prepared sets of forged documents to clients via postal services. During authorized searches of the suspect’s residence, a compelling body of evidence was seized: medical certificate forms bearing official seals, medical records, dozens of seals and stamps from various institutions, as well as documents already issued in the names of specific individuals. Investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to justice all other co-organizers of the scheme.
