In Kyiv, an unlicensed BMW driver caused a fatal traffic accident

In Kyiv, a 21-year-old BMW driver who caused a fatal traffic accident on June 30 has been notified of the charges against him. According to law enforcement officials, the man did not have a driver’s license and had already been charged with administrative offenses twice for traffic violations.

The fatal accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. in the Podilsky district of Kyiv on Ivan Vyhovsky Street.

According to the investigation, the driver of the BMW was traveling in the far-left lane when, while changing lanes, he collided with a Mercedes-Benz and also struck a Daewoo Lanos.

The BMW then veered into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Hyundai Sonata and a KIA Magentis.

The 54-year-old female driver of the Hyundai Sonata was killed in the accident. She died at the scene from her injuries.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has notified the 21-year-old BMW driver that he is a suspect.

Law enforcement officials determined that the man did not have a driver’s license at the time of the accident. In addition, he had previously been held administratively liable twice for traffic violations.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, during which law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances of the fatal traffic accident.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office. 

As a reminder, a major traffic accident occurred on Vyhovskyi Street, resulting in tragic consequences. 

Earlier, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Obukhiv district. A 70-year-old driver of a passenger car was killed in the accident, and two female passengers were injured.

Since the beginning of this year, 390 people, including 168 children, have been injured in traffic accidents involving light electric vehicles in Ukraine.
