Traffic in Kyiv has been temporarily blocked due to the aftermath of the Russian attack

In Kyiv, traffic has been temporarily blocked on a number of streets and avenues as a result of cleanup efforts following a nighttime Russian attack. Drivers are urged to plan their routes in advance and take the restrictions into account.

Currently, traffic is temporarily prohibited on the following sections:

  • Boryspilskaya Street—from the intersection with Veresneva Street toward Igor Kachurovsky Lane;
  • Ihor Kachurovsky Lane — from the intersection with Yuriy Lytvynsky Street toward Boryspilskaya Street;
  • Novodarnytska Street—from the intersection with Sanatorna Street toward Veresneva Street;
  • Veresneva Street — from the intersection with Yuri Shevelov Street toward Yuri Litvinsky Street;
  • Brest Avenue—from the intersection with Hrushetska Street to the intersection with Garmatna Street;
  • Taras Shevchenko Boulevard — from Bessarabska Square to the intersection with Yevhen Chykalenko Street;
  • Brest Avenue — from the “Nyvky” metro station to the intersection with Oleksandrivska Street;
  • Marko Vovchok Street — from the intersection with Semen Sklyarenko Street;
  • John Paul II Street—from the intersection with Vasyl Tiutiunyk Street toward Jerzy Gedroić Street;
  • Verbova Street — from the intersection with Dobrynska Street toward Kurenivska Street.

The restrictions will remain in effect until emergency rescue operations are completed and the damage caused by the Russian shelling has been repaired. Drivers are asked to follow the instructions of law enforcement officers and, if possible, choose alternative routes.

As a result of a massive Russian attack on the night of July 2, public transportation routes in Kyiv have been altered. This is due to damage to the overhead contact system, a power outage, and efforts to address the consequences of the enemy shelling.

At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 others were injured as a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv last night. Rescue workers, police, and other emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes.
