Kyiv to Introduce a Transfer QR Ticket
Starting August 1, 2026, a new transfer QR ticket will be available in the “Kyiv Digital” app and at self-service terminals, allowing for an unlimited number of transfers within 90 minutes of the first validation.
According to Valentyn Mondriyevskyi, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, this innovation is in line with practices in many European capitals and is designed to make using public transportation more convenient for city residents.
The new ticket costs 60 hryvnias.
It will be valid on:
- the metro;
- buses;
- trolleybuses;
- trams;
- funiculars.
After purchase, the QR ticket will be stored in the app for 15 days, and the 90-minute validity period will begin only after the first validation. During this period, passengers will be able to transfer between different modes of transportation without restrictions using the same QR code.
The transfer QR ticket can be purchased:
- in the “Kyiv Digital” app under “Buy a QR Ticket” → “Public Transportation” → “Transfer”;
- through self-service terminals.
During a ticket inspection, simply show the QR code to the inspector. After it is scanned, the system will display all validations made within 90 minutes, so no additional receipts or confirmations will be needed.
The Kyiv City State Administration noted that a transfer QR ticket cannot be transferred to another user. This restriction is due to the nature of its use for multiple transfers.
The city administration also emphasized that the introduction of the new ticket does not affect the current pricing system for QR tickets. Discounts apply only when topping up a transit card or purchasing a pass, while the price of QR tickets remains fixed.

Starting August 1, new fares for minibuses will take effect in Kyiv. On most routes, the fare will increase to 25 hryvnias, and on routes where the current fare is 10 hryvnias, the fare will be 20 hryvnias.
Kyiv has implemented only 6% of its Resilience Plan, although funds remain in the city budget for winter preparations.
The Kyiv City Council will consider amendments to the capital’s budget that provide for the return of 1.25 billion hryvnias to the city budget to fund measures to prepare the city for winter.
