The government has allocated 2 billion hryvnias to Kyiv for heating and energy

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a decision to allocate an additional 2 billion hryvnias to Kyiv to prepare for the heating season. The funds will be used to protect energy infrastructure and ensure a stable heat supply during the winter.

The Ukrainian government has allocated a significant financial resource of 2 billion hryvnias to the capital, which is to be used to strengthen the city’s energy security and prepare for potential winter demands, as, in wartime conditions, the stability of heat supply and the protection of critical infrastructure remain among the key priorities for the authorities.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, emphasizing that the decision is part of a comprehensive approach to implementing the Kyiv Resilience Plan, which aims to enhance the protection of energy facilities and ensure the uninterrupted operation of heating systems even under challenging conditions.

According to the head of government, the allocated funds will be directed primarily toward protecting the capital’s energy facilities from potential damage, as well as supporting the stable operation of heating systems so that Kyiv residents can receive uninterrupted heat during the winter.

She also noted that the state had previously funded the purchase of modular boiler houses for the capital, allocating 966 million hryvnias for this purpose, and that the new decision is a continuation of this policy to strengthen the city’s energy infrastructure.

“The government is helping local authorities fully implement the Capital’s Resilience Plan and ensure proper preparation for the winter season,” Svyrydenko noted in her statement.

Thus, Kyiv is receiving additional financial resources to minimize the risks of heat supply disruptions and enhance the city’s infrastructure readiness for potential challenges during the cold season. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

The holding company “Kyivmiskbud” has resumed active construction work on 11 of its 24 residential complexes and intends to fully commission six of them by the end of 2026.
