BTS, Cortis and Katseye receive new MTV VMA nominations — Korea Herald
BTS, Cortis and Katseye have received additional nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, whose ceremony will take place on September 27 in Los Angeles, United States. All three groups are nominated in the Best Group category, Korea Herald reports.
Three nominations for BTS and Cortis
For BTS, this nomination is its third at this year’s awards. Earlier, the group was recognized in the Song of the Year and Best K-pop categories for “Swim” from its fifth album, “Arirang.” BTS won in the Best Group category for four consecutive years, from 2019 to 2022, the highest total in the history of this nomination.
Cortis also has three nominations: the five-member boy band was previously included among the contenders in the Best New Artist and Best K-pop categories. Among the eight nominees for Best Group, Cortis is the group that debuted most recently.

Four nominations for Katseye
Katseye has four nominations after being included in the Best Group and Song of Summer categories. The track “Hootie Frutti” from its third mini-album, “Wild,” is competing for an award in this category alongside songs by Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift.
Katseye was previously nominated in the Best K-pop and Best Choreography categories for the song “Pinky Up.” Last year, the group won the MTV Push Performance of the Year award with the song “Touch.”
The MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The live broadcast will air on CBS and MTV and will also be available on Paramount+.
