Charles Spencer is set to publish a book about Diana's life and the week of her death

Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother, will publish a book titled *Swan Song: Diana, My Sister* in the United Kingdom on September 22. In it, he recounts his sister’s life and the week of her death, according to The Guardian World.

Michael Joseph, an imprint of Penguin, has described the book as the first in which the Earl of Spencer speaks openly and in detail about his sister. Spencer explained his decision to write the book by citing the approaching 30th anniversary of Diana’s tragic death and numerous requests for interviews about her.

According to the author, he decided to share his own thoughts and memories rather than read others’ opinions again—many of which, in his view, are based on falsehoods that have, over time, become widely accepted. He stated that he wants to tell the truth about Diana from her brother’s perspective—just as he tried to do in his speech at her funeral.

Spencer delivered a speech at his sister’s funeral at Westminster Abbey in September 1997, following her death on August 31. Daniel Bunyard, publishing director at Penguin Michael Joseph, said the book will contain many details that will attract significant attention, while also serving as a tribute to Princess Diana.

The author expressed hope that the book will interest people who cherish the memory of Diana and help readers who do not remember her during her lifetime understand what she was like.
