The cast of "Stranger Things" talked about filming the fourth season

The cast of the series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”—Ethan Peck, Christina Chong, and Paul Wesley—discussed their hectic schedule, genre experiments, and character development in the fourth season of the Paramount+ series. New episodes of the season premiere every Thursday, and the season finale is scheduled for September 24, 2026, according to Space.com.

Ethan Peck, who plays Spock, described working on the seasons as a kind of marathon due to lack of sleep, an unusual work schedule, and the demands of the filming process. He said that by the fourth season, the actors and writers already had more experience working with the characters. This helped them feel more confident while experimenting with genre elements in the fourth and, possibly, fifth seasons.

Christina Chong, who plays Laan Nunjien-Singh, said that during production, she took horseback riding lessons, rehearsed fight scenes, and familiarized herself with digital puppet models for the episode featuring puppet characters. She also mentioned preparing for an episode with horror elements. The actress noted that she had last ridden a horse for another show ten years ago, so she was essentially starting her training from scratch, although she had plenty of time to rehearse.

Paul Wesley, who plays James T. Kirk, said that the writers gave him the opportunity to work with different genres, including comedy and horror. He also highlighted the gradual development of the relationship between Kirk and Spock. According to Wesley, in one episode, Spock unwittingly reveals his vulnerability to Kirk, which helps the characters grow closer.

Peck called the opportunity to portray the building of trust between Spock and Kirk a joy and a privilege. He noted that the actors have to fill in the backstories of characters previously played by other actors.
