Uncle Zhora sang about diesel fuel at 100 and suggested that Ukrainians switch to bicycles
Ukrainian artist Dyadya Zhora, whose real name is Vadym Mychkovsky, has released a humorous song in response to the sharp rise in fuel prices. In the song, he pokes fun at the situation where the price of diesel has approached 100 hryvnias per liter.
According to the artist, the idea for the track came from the topicality of the issue. He wanted not only to joke about fuel prices but also to lift the spirits of Ukrainians a little.
“The song was created for humorous purposes, to cheer people up a bit and lift their spirits. It’s about a current issue, because right now everyone’s talking about diesel at 100 hryvnias. That’s how this song came to be,” said Uncle Zhora.
In the song, the artist jokes that with diesel prices this high, drivers will have to give up their cars and switch to bicycles.
“Diesel at 100 hryvnia. And my hair’s already gray. I’ll ride my bike, and you follow right behind me,” he sings.
In this way, Uncle Zhora decided to turn the painful issue of rising fuel prices—a major concern for drivers—into a humorous track.
