The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers performed the song An American Dream on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The track is included on the musician’s new solo album Thrasher, which has a country sound. As Rolling Stone reports, Flowers performed with his band and several backing vocalists.

An American Dream is a country ballad about whether money can bring happiness. During a conversation with the host, Flowers also spoke about work on Thrasher, which was released last month.

Musician David Rawlings, pedal steel guitarist Bruce Bouton, and harmonica player Charlie McCoy contributed to the recording. According to Flowers, every recording day began with 45 minutes of stories from the session participants. He noted that McCoy told stories, among others, about Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks, and Waylon Jennings.

Work on The Killers album

Fallon also asked the musician about The Killers’ next album. Flowers confirmed that work on it is ongoing but declined to reveal details, explaining that it is still too early.

Earlier, Flowers told Rolling Stone that the band members had already had “good moments” and important creative breakthroughs. According to him, this is the first work by all four members of The Killers together since the release of the album Battle Born. He suggested that the release could take place at the end of 2027, although he said early 2028 was more likely.
