In Los Angeles, US, Carly Rae Jepsen unveiled the video for her single Versailles. In the video, the singer dances at a party and imagines herself at the famous French Palace of Versailles, Rolling Stone reports.
Inspired by Marie Antoinette
The track is included on Jepsen's new double album Day and Night. According to the publication, the song was inspired by Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette. Jepsen wrote the track together with Elias Kapari, Noonie Bao and Markus Krunegård, while Kapari served as producer.
Kanya Iwana is credited as the director of the music video. In the song, Jepsen sings about wanting to throw a party at Versailles at night and mentions a modern-day Marie Antoinette.

An album with 24 tracks
Day and Night became Jepsen's first album with new songs since the release of The Loveliest Time in 2023. The record includes 24 tracks — 12 songs on each of the two discs, corresponding to the themes of day and night.
Previously, the artist released several songs from the album, including a video for the ABBA-inspired track Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor. On September 27, Jepsen is set to perform a special sunset set at the All Things Go festival in New York. This will be her first live performance this year.
