The singer admitted that she barely remembers those days, but she clearly remembers the people who were by her side in the hospital and literally helped her fight for her life. She recalls a nurse who supported her every day, urging her not to give up and to keep moving even when she was in the worst condition. “A few years ago, I was in very bad shape in the hospital. I was in a coma, and the nurse who was taking care of me constantly pushed me to fight. She gave me strength and hope,” Madonna said.
After being discharged from the hospital, the singer received a symbolic gift from her family—a stuffed octopus, which she named Octavia.
