The Ministry of Culture did not include 14 sites in the Odesa region in the State Register of Cultural Monuments
The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has issued a decision regarding 14 cultural heritage sites in Odesa and the Odesa region, determining that they are not eligible for inclusion in the State Register of Immovable Monuments.
Among them are a number of burial sites, including the graves of Pioneers, Communards, Komsomol members, and Red Guards.
According to Order No. 629 of May 31, the following, in particular, have been deemed ineligible for inclusion in the State Register: the sculpture group “Vladimir Lenin and Children,” the bust of Alexander Pushkin, the sculptures of Felix Dzerzhinsky, Vladimir Lenin, and Sergei Kirov, as well as a number of buildings and memorial sites associated with the Bolsheviks and the activities of communist authorities.
As a reminder, the Kyiv City Council, at its plenary session on March 26, 2026, adopted a decision to rename Chervona Street to Vasyl Kopan Street. The new name honors the memory of the fallen commander of the reconnaissance unit of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The Kyiv City Council renamed Volgo-Donska Street in honor of the fallen soldier and Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Petrychenko. This decision was adopted at today’s meeting, during which council members renamed 10 locations in the capital whose names were associated with the aggressor country.
The Lviv City Council adopted a decision to rename Gipsova Street to Igor Yukhnovsky Street.
