The incident occurred after Madonna’s performance with Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella. The artist explained that after the show, she discovered that part of her stage wardrobe was missing—items that were not just costumes, but elements of her creative history.
In her Instagram post, she emphasized that these were items from her personal archive that she had worn nearly 20 years ago, specifically during her 2006 Coachella performance. “These aren’t just clothes; they’re part of my history,” Madonna wrote, describing the missing items.
According to her, several items are missing: a jacket, a corset, a dress, and other elements of her stage look. She also noted that other archival items from that period have disappeared along with them. “I hope and pray that some kind person finds these items and contacts my team. I am offering a reward for their safe return,” the singer added.
During the performance itself, Madonna wore a purple corset, gloves, stockings, and boots, as well as a jacket that recreated her mid-2000s stage style.
Separately, she presented a new song from her upcoming album “Confessions II,” continuing the concept of her legendary 2006 Coachella performance, when she promoted the album “Confessions on a Dance Floor.”
On April 22, the National Museum of Romanian History will present to the public the golden helmet from Cotoșenești and two bracelets. The artifacts will be exhibited for the first time since their theft from a museum in the Netherlands and a lengthy search that lasted over a year.
