The Odessa Film Studio announced the death of Bati Nedich

Bata Nedich, a Ukrainian director and producer of Serbian descent, has died. The news of his death was announced by the Odessa Film Studio, where he worked on many well-known films and TV series.

Colleagues remember Nedich as a talented director who genuinely loved his craft and knew how to inspire those around him. They emphasize that his work will forever remain a part of Ukrainian cinema. “Director Bata Nedich has passed away—a talented filmmaker whose name is associated with a number of projects at the Odesa Film Studio. He worked with us on the TV series *Doctor Filatov* and *Ivanova, 45*, the documentary *The Military Couturier*, the film “Two Truths,” and the TV series “A Film for a NEPman,” pouring his talent, knowledge, and love for cinema into each of them and inspiring everyone around him,” the statement reads.

The film studio noted that Bata Nedich was not only a consummate professional but also a person who was respected and valued by his colleagues. His talent, dedication to the art of cinema, and sincere approach to his work left a lasting impression on the hearts of his friends, colleagues, and audiences. “The memory of him will live on in the projects he created and in his creative legacy, which will continue to inspire people and serve as a reminder of his talent and contribution to the arts. May his memory live on forever,” the Odesa Film Studio stated.

Colleagues also noted that it is particularly painful to realize that the historical TV series *A Film for a NEPman*, on which the director had been working recently, will be completed without him. They expressed their sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, and everyone who knew Bata Nedich. Bata Nedich was born on May 30, 1962, in Belgrade. Despite his Serbian origins, he devoted most of his professional life to Ukraine. For many years, the director lived and worked in Kyiv and Odesa, where he produced dozens of television and film projects.

Throughout his career, he directed and produced many popular Ukrainian TV series. Among them are “Healing Through Love,” “The Century of Yakov,” “Doctor Filatov,” “Ivanova, 45,” “A Village Worth a Million,” and “The Landlady.” Since 2025, he had been working on the historical series *A Film for a NEPman*. His work has left a lasting mark on Ukrainian television and cinema, and the projects he created will continue to remind viewers of the director’s talent. The director’s death was announced on the Odessa Film Studio’s official Facebook page.
