Olena Topolia revealed the amount of compensation under the "eRecovery" program following the Russian attack
Ukrainian singer and actress Olena Topolia described the compensation her family received through the "e-Recovery" program after their home was damaged in a Russian attack. According to the artist, the government assistance covered only a portion of the costs to repair the apartment.
Topolya reported that repairing the home after the enemy strike cost a total of about 2 million hryvnias, while under the state program, the family received 209,000 hryvnias in compensation.
“Inside, people have done some repairs and are continuing to work on it. The facade is taking a very long time to restore because we have very strong winds here, and that constantly gets in the way to some extent… We were paid 209,000 hryvnias… And about 2 million hryvnias went toward repairs,” the singer noted.
The artist also said that after what they went through, the main focus during the restoration of the home was on security.
According to her, they installed bulletproof windows and doors in the apartment, and even added extra protection in the building’s common hallway.
“We’ve already installed armored windows and armored doors. Just everywhere… My attitude, of course, has changed. We also installed armored doors in the common hallway. And when I see that it’s a missile attack, we go down to the parking garage and stay in the car…,” Topolia shared.
The singer admitted that after the Russian strike, she began to take air raid alerts and the threat of missile attacks much more seriously.
Now, when a danger alert is issued, the family tries not to stay in the apartment and moves to a safer place.
At the same time, work on restoring the building is still ongoing, including repairs to the facade, which are being complicated by weather conditions and strong winds.
The singer spoke about this in an interview with the program “Morning Coffee.”
