Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has given a positive assessment of actress and singer Hania Aamir’s debut single Pablo. In a clip shared by BBC Asian Network, he called the track a banger, Dawn reports.

Azhar called Aamir a great artist and said he was happy to see this side of her creativity. He also urged Pakistani listeners not to be overly critical of songs and to view music as a means of self-expression rather than judge it as if it were a Pakistan Idol competition.
According to the performer, Aamir not only acts in films but also writes and expresses her own feelings in songs. Azhar specifically noted the lyrics to Pablo, which Aamir wrote herself. In his view, each line of the track briefly addresses one of the high-profile controversies.

The single Pablo was released on September 9. It is a vibrant Punjabi diss track aimed at Aamir’s numerous critics. In the song, the performer sings that she is enjoying life and relaxing while her opponents are angry.
Azhar expressed hope that Aamir’s release would inspire more girls in Pakistan, South Asia and around the world to pursue pop music. The track also features an address by Indian reality TV star Rakhi Sawant, who urged Aamir to be brave in the face of critics. After criticism of the song, Sawant defended Aamir, calling her dear.
