Ghanaian poet Emma Ofosua to take part in three literary events in England
Ghanaian poet, performance poet and cultural curator Emma Ofosua is set to appear at three literary events in England in September. The programme covers Eastwood near Nottingham, Croydon in London and Haworth in West Yorkshire, MyJoyOnline reports.
Events in Eastwood and Croydon
On September 12, Ofosua performed at The Optimist’s Incomplete event, organised by Sevhage. The event took place at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum on Victoria Street in Eastwood, with a scheduled start time of 11:00.
On September 17, the poet is set to headline the Big Mouth Poetry Open Mic evening. The event is scheduled at The Village Table on Park Lane in Croydon, London, from 18:30 to 22:00.

Festival panel in Haworth
On September 26, Ofosua will join the Literary Sisters from Accra to Bradford panel discussion as part of the Brontë Women’s Writing Festival. Writers Tabitha Bast, Barsa Rea and Priscilla Adepa will also take part in the discussion. The panel is scheduled at the Old School Room on Church Street in Haworth.
Ofosua is the founder and executive director of Tuniq Africa and the All African Women Poetry Festival, as well as the managing editor of Hadithi Magazine. Her work focuses on themes of identity, culture and memory, particularly the resilience and courage of African women.
She previously took part in the Literary Sisters Residency, which brought together authors from Accra and Bradford in dialogue with the works of the Brontë sisters. In October 2026, Ofosua plans to release her debut spoken-word album, Mid-Shed.
