Actress Natalia Danilova, who rose to fame for her role in the film *The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed*, has died in Russia. The theaters where she worked, including the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater and the Komissarzhevskaya Theater, announced her death.
According to available information, the actress died in St. Petersburg after a long and serious illness. She was 70 years old.
It is known that Danilova’s heart stopped beating on September 8, 2026, but the news was not reported until September 16.
Danilova gained widespread fame for her role as police sergeant Varya Sinichkina in the iconic Soviet film *The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed*. Her character was the love interest of Vladimir Sharapov, played by Vladimir Konkin.
Among Danilova’s other notable roles were Princess Volskaya in *Little Tragedies*, as well as roles in the films and TV series *Fathers and Sons*, “The Mystery of the Black Thrushes,” “The Life of Klim Samgin,” and “The Owl’s Cry.” In total, she has appeared in over 60 film and television productions.
In addition to film, Natalya Danilova performed on stage for many years and also worked in dubbing and voice acting. Over the course of her career, she played more than 100 such roles. In 1991, the actress was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
