A director of Ukrainian descent directed the season 3 finale of *House of the Dragon*
Andriy Parekh, an American director of Ukrainian descent, directed the eighth and final episode of the third season of the series “House of the Dragon,” which premiered on HBO on August 9.
On his Instagram, Parekh shared photos and videos from the shoot and thanked showrunner Ryan Kondal, the producers, actors, and crew for their trust in bringing such a large-scale project to life, describing the 57-day shoot as a true odyssey. He also noted that although the episode’s plot revolves around war, he hopes viewers will remember its futility.
Andriy Parekh was born in the U.S. to a Ukrainian mother and an Indian father. He regularly posts about events in Ukraine to draw the world’s attention and wears vyshyvankas as a sign of support for his country. According to People magazine, in the third season, the series’ events are approaching their climax—the final battle at Tumbleton and the storming of King’s Landing by Rhaenyra and Daemon to reclaim the Iron Throne.
