Robert Pattinson and Oasis to present world premieres at the Venice festival
Robert Pattinson, as well as Oasis frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher, are due to arrive at the Venice Lido in Italy on September 5 for the world premieres of films at the Venice Film Festival. As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, Pattinson’s film “Primetime” and a documentary about Oasis will be released in the United States in September.

In “Primetime,” Pattinson played Chris Hansen, the host of the reality series “To Catch a Predator,” which aired on Dateline NBC. The film was written by Ajon Singh and directed by Lance Oppenheim.
The film is based on journalist Luke Dittrich’s Esquire article, “Tonight on Dateline This Man Will Die.” It examines a 2006 operation involving Texas assistant district attorney Bill Conradt. According to the source, Conradt died by suicide when police arrived at his home while television cameras from the show were nearby.

Hansen was not involved in making the film and publicly questioned its creators’ motives. He was invited to watch the film before the festival but objected to the non-disclosure agreement he was expected to sign. “Primetime” is scheduled for release in the United States on September 25.
Documentary about Oasis
The documentary “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger” combines a concert film with an account of the tense relationship between the Gallagher brothers. Their years-long feud led to Oasis breaking up in 2009.
The film includes previously unseen rehearsal footage and a joint interview with Noel and Liam, which at the time became their first conversation together in 25 years. Directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace said they wanted to tell the story of the brothers’ reconciliation and the lasting impact of Oasis’ music. Disney will release the film in IMAX on September 11; it is expected to arrive on Disney+ later.
