Pavel Talankin, the Russian co-director of the film "Mr. Nobody vs. Putin," lost his Oscar statuette during a flight from the United States to Germany.
The incident occurred at a New York airport prior to departure for Frankfurt. According to reports, security personnel required him to check the award as luggage, explaining that its weight could pose a potential hazard on board.
The statuette was packed into a box and sent to the aircraft’s cargo hold, but upon arrival in Germany, it was not found.
The film’s director, David Borenstein, reported that the Oscar never arrived with the luggage.
Lufthansa stated that they are working to locate the missing award.
The film "The Sharp-Eyed: Immortal" opened with a 93% approval rating.
As a reminder, a lost film by Georges Méliès featuring the first robot in cinema history was found in the U.S.
Warner Bros. is also developing a prequel film set in the "Game of Thrones" universe.
