The real-life inspiration for Emily from *The Devil Wears Prada* has revealed her identity for the first time

Celebrity stylist Leslie Fremar has stated that she was the inspiration for the character Emily in the film *The Devil Wears Prada*.

This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Fremar explained that the character of Miranda Priestly’s assistant, played by Emily Blunt in the film, was partly based on her own experience working with author Lauren Weisberger.

Weisberger wrote the novel on which the film was based, drawing on her own experience working at Vogue. She had previously served as an assistant to editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who became the inspiration for Miranda Priestly.

Fremar noted that they worked together for about eight months, and it was she who uttered the line that later became iconic in the film: that “millions of girls would kill for this job.”

According to her, the first draft of the book was much harsher and resembled an exposé, though it was later toned down.

The stylist also admitted that her relationship with Weisberger was strained, and after her dismissal, they no longer spoke.

Fremar added that she told actress Emily Blunt about her connection to the character, but Blunt reacted with restraint.

The Italian Ministry of Culture sent inspectors to the Venice Biennale to investigate the circumstances surrounding the decision to open the Russian pavilion.

Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli officially declined to attend the opening of the 61st Venice Biennale in protest against the return of the Russian pavilion.
