Pierre Denys, star of the series "Emily in Paris," has passed away in France

French actor Pierre Denys, known for his role as the CEO of fashion giant JVMA and Nicolas de Leon’s father in the series “Emily in Paris,” has died at the age of 69.

The Daily Mail reported this.

According to media reports, the cause of death was complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—a severe neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and leads to loss of muscle control and paralysis. The actor had been battling the disease for several years.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Pierre Denys, which occurred following a sudden and severe onset of ALS,” the actor’s daughters said.

Pierre Denys had a significant body of work and appeared in over 100 films and TV series throughout his career.

Among the actor’s most famous works are *Life Is Beautiful*, *Tomorrow Is Ours*, and *Emily in Paris* (seasons 3 and 4).

His role in the popular Netflix series brought him a new wave of international recognition and made him a recognizable face of contemporary French cinema.

Earlier, at his home in Woodstock, New York, the renowned American jazz musician, saxophonist, and composer Sonny Rollins passed away at the age of 95.
