A Killer View about suspected murder staged in Kathmandu — Kathmandu Post
In Kathmandu, Nepal, the theatre group Absurd Icons Nepal, in collaboration with Katha Ghera, is staging A Killer View—an absurd black comedy that reimagines the crime thriller genre. The production was reported by Kathmandu Post.
The story of photographer Netra
The play was written and directed by theatre practitioner Satish Prasai. Its protagonist, photographer Netra, is forced to remain in his room because of a broken leg. Unable to sleep, he watches his neighbour, Drishya Thakuri, whom he suspects of abusing his sick wife.
One night, Netra hears sounds of violence and sees Thakuri moving around several times during the night with a suspicious suitcase. After this, the protagonist becomes convinced that his neighbour has killed his wife. To investigate the possible crime, he enlists a woman named Eliza and his friend, Inspector Tommy.

Inspiration and schedule
The creators call A Killer View an original work, although the production was inspired by Cornell Woolrich's 1942 novella It Had to Be Murder and Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film Rear Window. The play addresses justice, gaslighting, prejudice, perceptions of reality, and the tendency to judge people without knowing their circumstances.
Performances will continue until October 10 at Kausi Theatre in Teku. There will be no performances on Tuesdays, while two shows are scheduled every Saturday—at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
