The government has announced the amount of damage inflicted by Russia on Ukrainian culture
According to World Bank estimates, Russia has caused $24 billion in direct and indirect damage to Ukrainian culture. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna during the opening of the Conference on Ukrainian Studies, “Ukraine in the World.”
The government official emphasized that the state’s key task is to protect history and document all crimes committed by Russia against Ukraine’s cultural heritage and symbols of statehood. According to Tetiana Berezhna, Ukraine is documenting the extent of the damage caused and will work to ensure that the aggressor fully compensates for the damage inflicted.

More than 240 billion euros in private and state assets of the Russian Federation have been frozen in European countries. The European Union is currently working on a mechanism to use these funds to compensate for the damage inflicted on Ukraine.
The frozen Russian assets should be used not only for reconstruction but also for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine, said Latvian Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš.
