YARMAK and David Maskisa covered Tartak's legendary song "Without Telling Anyone"
Rapper, Senior Lieutenant, and Battalion Commander of the 412th Brigade, Nemesis YARMAK, became the star of Tina Karol’s original project, “The Recording Studio.” Together with singer and military officer David Maskis, he presented a new version of the iconic song “Without Telling Anyone” by the band “Tartak” and Oleksandr Polozhynsky.
The song, dedicated to the soldiers of the UPA, was first recorded back in 2006, and has now been given a modern arrangement as part of the “Recording Studio” project, which aims to revive unjustly forgotten Ukrainian songs.
YARMAK admitted that Oleksandr Polozhynsky’s work had a major influence on his development as an artist.
“I’ve been listening to Oleksandr Polozhynsky’s work for a long time, and his songs had a significant impact on my development back then,” the musician noted.
In the new version of the song, Davyd Maskis performed the vocal parts, while YARMAK delivered the rap. The musical accompaniment was provided by violinists, a guitarist, a drummer, and a keyboardist, giving the song a new emotional resonance.
“Music about this war will serve as a guide for future generations. That’s why this project is an honor for me—both creatively and as a citizen,” said Tina Karol.
Oleksandr Polozhynskyi was also present during the recording; he personally heard the new rendition of “Without Telling Anyone” and thanked YARMAK and Davyd Maskyis for reimagining the legendary composition.
The video has already been published on the YouTube channel of the “House of Sound Recording” project, where it became part of a series dedicated to new renditions of iconic Ukrainian songs.
Earlier, the band TNMK and the “warrior rapper” YARMAK released the music video “Plus-Plus” in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
