Zelenskyy shared his idea for a TV series he would like to produce in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the concept for a television project that, in his view, could serve as the basis for a multi-season series filmed in Ukraine. According to the head of state, such a story could be produced as part of the state program “Tysiachovesna” and feature a long-term narrative arc.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that this series should be similar to the cult historical series “Vikings.”
“I’ll be honest. I would really like for us in Ukraine to have a product on par with ‘Vikings’ (a popular series, – ‘Glavkom’) about Kievan Rus’. I would really like to have a product like that—one with quality, with seasons, and with clear focus. But it has to be high-quality, with great showrunners; only with them can you have a strong storyline. And we have plenty of history; we have a great history. And there are plenty of places to film,” the president noted.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian films should tell the story of Ukraine and the origins of our state. The president’s series would also have several seasons to fully develop the characters of all the protagonists.
“By the way, it’s also very important to show that you’re filming about that time here. That’s where our state came from. These are important things. And I would advocate for such a multi-season, high-quality product. Multi-season not because it’s a commercial venture, but to fully develop all the characters,” Zelenskyy added, according to a Glavkom correspondent.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Europe should take a direct part in negotiations to end the war, rather than acting as a mediator between Ukraine and Russia.
Zelenskyy and Rutte commented on the drone incidents in NATO airspace.
The Finnish Air Force will conduct special exercises to repel drone attacks in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, as well as in the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia regions, which border Russia.
