Attacks by the Russian Federation and severe weather left consumers in 11 regions without power

As of the morning of September 24, consumers in 11 regions of Ukraine were without power due to Russian attacks and adverse weather conditions. Ukrenergo reported the new power outages.

 

“Due to adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, strong gusts of wind), as of this morning, more than 600 settlements in eight regions are completely or partially without power — Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kyiv, and Chernihiv. Regional power companies’ repair crews are already working to restore damaged overhead power lines, but weather conditions remain challenging in some regions,” the statement said.

Due to new Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, as of this morning there are new power outages in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions. are without power due to inclement weather. As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, electricity consumption is 1.8% higher than the previous day’s level. This is due to cloudy weather and rain across nearly the entire territory of Ukraine, which are reducing the efficiency of residential solar power plants.

Given the weather conditions, Ukrenergo advises consumers to use electricity sparingly from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

As a reminder, the occupiers struck Zhmerynka, cutting off power to part of the city.

Earlier, Russia struck the Silpo distribution center in Odesa.

In addition, Russia attacked Kyiv with drones, resulting in casualties and destruction.

Overnight, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, and fires broke out in several regions.
